Halloween Begins Right Now!

Perhaps it’s because this has been such an outstandingly horrible two years, or maybe it’s because we’re all wearing masks anyway so why not just go Full Halloween Costume?

Whatever the reason, there seems to be a super abundance of Halloween events planned for this year.

So far, here’s what we know:

The Lantern (located at 10 Main St. in the hamlet of Wassaic) is open at 2 p.m. Fridays through Sundays, enticing customers with wood-fired pizzas, homemade pasta and other culinary delights — and a beautiful garden space in which to dine. Photo submitted

Summer Arts and Edibles for all Ages

I’ve visited the hamlet of Wassaic (in the town of Amenia, N.Y.), countless times — both as a reporter for The Millerton News and as cyclist on the Rail Trail.

Affordable Evenings of Blues, Rock, Jazz and Dinner

The Barn in Egremont, Mass., has a full spring calendar of live performances in a range of small-venue musical styles, with tickets usually running $10 each.

Performances (and meals) are outdoors, with COVID-19 social distance protocols observed.

Divide and Conquer (and Hire a Caterer) To Get More Joy from Your Holiday Meals

This is it, folks, the year when you actually have a legitimate excuse to stay home for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays and cook whatever you want. There is no pressure this year to include all the main and side dishes that your sister and your mother and your Aunt Suzanne consider an irreplaceable part of the season.

Zoom Into Halloween!

Halloween is fast approaching, which means it’s time to forget everything Tom Ford told you about how to look beautiful on Zoom.

Spooky season is now in full effect, and while many of Halloween’s festivities may be canceled due to the quarantine, we can still carry on the way we have been with everything else this year: on Zoom!
