It’s cold, it’s snowy — it’s winter!


MILLBROOK — Statistically winters may be getting warmer and shorter, but the month of January 2011, was an exception. Snow shoveling always affects our perception of long-term climate shifts. And it was cold in January — 2.1 degrees cooler than the 40-year average of 24.1 degrees as calculated by the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies Environmental Monitoring Program in Millbrook.
