Wassaic Fire Auxiliary sells subs to raise funds

WASSAIC — The Wassaic Fire Company Auxiliary fed the local community while raising money to support its organization at a submarine sandwich drive-thru on Saturday, July 17.

AMENIA — Between the Republican primary in June and the Democrats circulating nomination petitions, not to mention an independent candidate who has thrown her hat into the ring, the town of Amenia now has its full lineup of candidates — both incumbents and those new to the ballot — running for office in the 2021 General Election on Tuesday, Nov.

Multiple agencies rescue two tubers from Ten Mile River

WASSAIC — With sirens howling and lights glaring, numerous fire and rescue trucks raced along Route 22 at around 4:30 p.m.

Amenia Fire Company and Wassaic Ladies Auxiliary award scholarships

AMENIA — Celebrating the achievements of their community’s rising scholars, both the Amenia Fire Company and the Wassaic Ladies Auxiliary joined together to help send this year’s graduates out into the future on a strong footing by awarding a few local standouts college scholarships on Wednesday, July 7.

New RiverTown Trade exhibits the eclectic and artistic

AMENIA — The heart of Amenia’s business district was sparked with a touch of glamour as Samuel Gold, known by many as a “purveyor of curious goods,” brought RiverTown Trade to Main Street. RiverTown Trade opened Memorial Day weekend and celebrated its arrival with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 12.

Young readers and longtime fans of the “Harry Potter” book series were eager to tune into Zoom on Thursday, June 10, as the NorthEast-Millerton Library hosted popular heroine of the wizarding world Hermione Granger as part of the library’s Virtual Princess/Superhero Storytime Series.
