‘Legally Blonde,’ to debut March 9
PINE PLAINS — The musical “Legally Blonde” will be performed by students at Stissing Mountain Middle/High School on March 9, 10 and 11.The cast has been working diligently to bring the quirky world of Elle Woods to life.“Everyone is working so hard and I’m incredibly proud,” said Director Mary Ward. “From the cast to the crew, everyone who is working on this is really doing such a great job.”The production even stars some canine actors.“It really ups the ante. We’ve got two dogs that will be on stage with the actors. Our trainer has been fabulous and I think the audience will love them,” she said.The starring role of Elle Woods is being played by sophomore Gabrielle Latendorf.“She’s very professional and a real hard worker. She’s great in this role,” Ward said.Latendorf brings Elle’s sassy personally and witty banter to life with a fierce sense of fashion and a powerhouse voice.Latendorf’s costars include Austin Christiansen as Emmit and Brendan Long as Warner, the two men in Elle’s life.“The boys have spectacular voices. They’re real naturals,” said Ward.The production will be held in the Stissing Mountain High School auditorium. Showtimes are Friday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 11, at 2 p.m.
