Pink's NFL Picks - C. “Pink” Bunel

Super Bowl Picks

Just like last year, my wife and I are in Florida so my son James has helped me out with this year’s prediction. For the record, we both liked the same team to win, so read on to find out who wins the Big One.

Pink’s NFL Picks

Last week’s divisional games: 3-2; for the playoffs, 5-3.
I’m fully satisfied with 3-1, but again I was victimized by picking one of my two favorite teams, knowing full well they were going to have a tough time winning. The Seahawks are not the team this year that they have been in the past few years, and they certainly can struggle on the road, especially against a team with the firepower of the Falcons.

Last Picks for 2016; still lots of playoff possibilities

Last week: 12-4; for the season, 131-75-2. Pick of the week: 1-0; 12-1 for the season. Just Sports (Patsy DiMauro): 11-5; for the season, 118-87-2. POW: 1-0; for the season, 9-4.

Let’s get right to this week’s games.  Frank Petrunti will be making the picks for Just Sports this week.

Thursday, Dec. 22

N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia

No shortage of important games

Last week: 12-4; for the season, 119-71-2. Pick of the week: 1-0; 11-1 for the season. Just Sports (Frank Petrunti): 10-6; for the season, 107-82-2. POW: 0-1; for the season, 8-4.

Another solid week — but it’s about time I give up on my Seattle Seahawks. With no running game and a porous offensive line, the Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will be lucky if he survives the season.

Teams still fighting for the playoffs

Last week: 9-6; for the season, 107-67-2. Pick of the week: 1-0; 10-1 for the season. Just Sports (Frank Petrunti): 10-5; for the season, 77-76-2. POW: 0-1; for the season 8-3.

Admittedly, 9-6 is acceptable most weeks, and that’s no different for this past week. At this stage of the season, the playoff picture begins to get clearer with each passing week, but that doesn’t necessarily make picking winners any easier.

Thanksgiving week turned out mostly as predicted

Last week: 12-3; for the season, 98-61-2. Pick of the week, 1-0; 9-1 for the season. Just Sports (Frank Petrunti): 9-6; for the season, 87-72-2. POW, 0-1; for the season 8-2.

To keep the record straight, I posted last Monday night’s win to last week’s results before adding the week’s totals to our season-long competition.

Last week’s predictions were mostly correct, but what about this week?

Last week: 10-3; for the season, 85-57-2. Pick of the week, 1-0; 8-1 for the season. Just Sports:  (Mike Kurtz): 10-3; for the season, 76-66-2. POW: 1-0; for the season 7-2.

First, let me inform you all that this past week’s results do not include the winner of the Houston vs. Oakland game on Monday night. It won’t, however, change much, because both Mike and I picked the same team, the Raiders, to win the game. The holiday weekend moves up my deadline to Monday morning, so we’ll get things squared away next week.

Lots of playoff implications this week

Last week: 9-5; for the season, 75-54-2. Pick of the week, 1-0; 7-1 for the season. Just Sports (Mike Kurtz): 6-8; for the season, 66-63-2. Pick of the Week: 1-0; for the season, 6-2

Six divisions still up for grabs

Last week: 8-5; for the season, 66-49-2. Pick of the week, 0-1; 6-1 for the season. Just Sports (Frank Petrunti): 7-6; for the season, 60-55-2. POW: 1-0; for the season 5-2.

It’s not that I’m happy with last week’s results, but at least I managed to squeeze by Frankie from Just Sports. Frank, however, was right on with his Pick of the Week while I missed mine, so he one-upped me on that one.

Loyalty is not a strength when picking winners

Last week: 8-4-1; for the season, 58-44-2. Pick of the week, 1-0; 6-0 for the season. Just Sports (Pat DiMauro): 8-4-1; for the season, 53-49-2. POW: 1-0; for the season, 4-2.
