WINSTED — The following information was provided by the Winchester Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.Failure to appearRobert S. LaCroix, 32, 29 Cedar Lane, Barkhamsted, was arrested Feb. 21 and charged with second degree failure to appear. He was brought to court later that day.Warrant for arrestCrystal F. Gilbar, 21, 8 Rockwell St., Winsted, was arrested Feb. 15 after learning a warrant for a re-arrest out of Canton had been issued. Bond was set at $2,500, and she was scheduled to appear in court Feb. 28.Breach of peaceTeresa Nelson, 46, 60 Main St., no. 5, was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with breach of peace in a domestic incident. A $500 bond was set, and she was scheduled to appear in court Feb. 15.DisorderlyEnrique Montas, 22, 48 Rock St., Winsted, was arrested Feb. 12 and charged with disorderly conduct in a domestic incident. A $500 bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court Feb. 14.DWIHernan A. Melendez-Antique, 20, 193 Starks Rd., Winsted, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of alcohol by a minor and risk of injury to a minor. He was released on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court Feb. 21.The Winsted Journal will publish the outcome of police charges upon request. Water main cleaning in North Canaan

Tuning up two passions under one roof

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
