Sidewalks still a concern

NORTH CANAAN — Uneven sidewalks and non-working streetlights were discussed by the North Canaan Board of Selectmen at their regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 5.

Selectman Craig Whiting had noticed a lack of adequate lighting for pedestrians during the recent townwide celebration of Railroad Days, noting that he himself had used his cell phone light to cross the railroad tracks.

“I’ve never seen the center of town so dark,” Whiting said. “The lighting is terrible.”
