Expressionistic landscapes and urban scenes are among the highlights of the noteworthy Helen Cantrell show currently on view at The White Gallery in Lakeville. The show’s straightforward title, “A Sense of Place,” feels just right for the images assembled here. Nimbly, and sometimes unpredictably, Cantrell seems to have captured whatever might have been before her at any given moment: whether she was in Venice or Bridgeport, looking out on a snow-covered landscape or the angular, mid-century lines of a suburban home.
