WINSTED — The following information was provided by the Winchester Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

DUI

Elizabeth Troy, 61, 164 Smith Hill Rd., Winsted, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive right. A $500 surety bond was set, and she was scheduled to appear in court Nov. 14.

Disorderly

Adam P. Jacques, 28, 142 Laurel Way, Winchester, was arrested Oct. 31 and charged with disorderly conduct in a domestic incident. A $500 non-surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court Nov. 1.

Disorderly

Melissa Jacques, 25, 142 Laurel Way, Winchester, was arrested Oct. 31 and charged with disorderly conduct in a domestic incident. A $500 non-surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court Nov. 1.

Disorderly

Melissa K. Moores, 36, 104 Ridge St., Winsted, was arrested Oct. 27 and charged with disorderly conduct stemming from an incident Sept. 13. A $500 surety bond was set, and she was scheduled to appear Oct. 28.

Disorderly

Dean Moores, 33, 104 Ridge St., Winsted, was arrested Oct. 27 and charged with disorderly conduct stemming from an incident Sept. 13. A $500 surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear Oct. 28.

Disorderly

Donald Harrington, 39, 104 Ridge St., Winsted, was arrested Oct. 27 and charged with disorderly conduct stemming from an incident Sept. 13. A $500 surety bond was set, and she was scheduled to appear Oct. 28.

Risk of injury

Robert Mastropietro, 24, 114 Benedict St., Waterbury, was arrested Oct. 25 on a warrant and charged with risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace, criminal mischief in the second degree and criminal trespass in the first degree. A $1,000 non-surety bond was set, and he is scheduled to appear Nov. 17.

Larceny

Michael S. Michaud, 23, 34 N. Elm St., Torrington, turned himself in after learning an active warrant for arrest had been issued. He was arrested Oct. 27 and charged with larceny in the fourth degree stemming from an incident July 30. A $20,000 surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court Oct. 27.

Failure to appear

Gary F. Fecto, 41, 32 Washington Ave., Torrington, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant. He was arrested for failure to appear in the second degree. He was released on a $1,500 surety bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 7.

Criminal trespass

William T. May, 49, of no known address, was arrested Oct. 23 and charged with criminal trespass in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree. A $1,500 surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear Oct. 24.

DWI

Sharon  M. Hunt, 38, 23 Cecelia Terrace, Pittsfield, Mass., was arrested Oct. 22 and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to drive right. A $500 non-surety bond was set, and she is scheduled to appear Nov. 11.

NORFOLK — Robert J. Pallone, 69, of Perkins St. passed away April 12, 2024, at St. Vincent Medical Center. He was a loving, eccentric CPA. He was kind and compassionate. If you ever needed anything, Bob would be right there. He touched many lives and even saved one.

Cornwall Library

The Cornwall Library unveiled its latest art exhibition, “Live It Up!,” showcasing the work of the late West Cornwall resident Joelle Sander on Saturday, April 13. The twenty works on canvas on display were curated in partnership with the library with the help of her son, Jason Sander, from the collection of paintings she left behind to him. Clearly enamored with nature in all its seasons, Sander, who split time between her home in New York City and her country house in Litchfield County, took inspiration from the distinctive white bark trunks of the area’s many birch trees, the swirling snow of Connecticut’s wintery woods, and even the scenic view of the Audubon in Sharon. The sole painting to depict fauna is a melancholy near-abstract outline of a cow, rootless in a miasma haze of plum and Persian blue paint. Her most prominently displayed painting, “Flowers,” effectively builds up layers of paint so that her flurry of petals takes on a three-dimensional texture in their rough application, reminiscent of another Cornwall artist, Don Bracken.

A Seder to savor in Sheffield

On April 23, Race Brook Lodge in Sheffield will host “Feast of Mystics,” a Passover Seder that promises to provide ecstasy for the senses.

“’The Feast of Mystics’ was a title we used for events back when I was running The New Shul,” said Rabbi Zach Fredman of his time at the independent creative community in the West Village in New York City.
