Pine Plains rings in opening day under rainy forecast

PINE PLAINS — Even as the rain kept the players off the ballfield, Pine Plains found a way to usher in the start of the 2019 baseball season on Sunday, April 28.

Young athletes and their families assembled for an opening day ceremony under the Pine Plains Lions Club Pavilion at 3 p.m. After welcoming everyone to Opening Day, Catherine Prentice, former rec director and longtime member of the Pine Plains Recreation Department, talked about the different baseball programs scheduled to take place this spring.
