Earl W. Bostrup

SALISBURY — Earl W. Bostrup died April 20, 2019, at Sharon Hospital at the age of 91.  He was the loving and devoted husband of Margaret T. Bostrup for 63 years.

Earl was born on Jan. 23, 1928, in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Later that year he traveled to the United States with his Danish father and American mother.  They lived in various locations throughout the United States, finally settling in New York City. Earl became a U.S. citizen and served his country as a United States Marine. He was very proud of both. After leaving the Marine Corps he joined Pfizer, Inc., where he had a long and successful career. He retired as director of corporate office services.

Earl earned a private pilot certificate and had a love of flying. He enjoyed traveling abroad with his wife, Margaret, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family. One of his great loves was spending time in the Adirondack Mountains and sharing that love with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his daughters, Margy Donecker of Kent and Kristin Lionti and her husband, Vincent, of New York City; his sons, Eric Bostrup and his wife, Michelle, of Ridgefield, Conn., and Mark Bostrup and his wife, Karen, of Bedford, N.H.; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
