Howard ‘Butch’ Clarence Duntz Sr.

NORTH CANAAN — Howard “Butch” Clarence Duntz Sr., 75, of Canaan Valley Road, died April 25, 2019, at Sharon Hospital. 

He was the husband of Colaine (Davide) Duntz. 

Howard was born July 29, 1943, in Pittsfield, Mass., the son of the late Abbie (Coons) and Roy Duntz.

Howard and Colaine met in 1961 and spent the last 58 years together. They were inseparable for their 56 years of marriage. Howard was a family man who will always be cherished by his loved ones. His great sense of humor will truly be missed. 

Howard worked for many years at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville. He began his career there in the kitchen, for a company that was contracted to provide food services at the school. 

From there, he moved to the housekeeping department, where he remained until his retirement. 

Howard was an avid and skilled fisherman. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening and sketching. 

However, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his newest great-grandson, Greyson.

In addition to his wife, Howard is survived by his three children, Colaine Korie Duntz and her husband, Daniel Morey, Howard Clarence Duntz  Jr. and his wife, Connie Green, and Fawn Korene Duntz, all of North Canaan; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Fawn, Mary, Abbiegail and Sarah; and his great-grandchildren, Thomas, Susan, Dustin, Colaine and Greyson.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan.
