This newspaper’s History Notebook column for Feb. 7 included  a postcard image of Tramp Rock in North Canaan. Coincidentally, unaware of the publication until later, Pat Redmund of Kent explored a section of old east-west railroad bed and came upon Tramp Rock. It was about 30 yards away from the track right-of-way in what he described as hideous hiking territory. The land had been timbered off about 15 years ago, he said, and he had to climb through slash and new brush growth. He found an easier way back to civilization. No obvious signs of a hobo.— Bernard A. Drew
