Marjorie Anne LaMarque

NORTH CANAAN — Marjorie Anne LaMarque, née McCunn, 90, of Beckley House in North Canaan, passed away peacefully March 3, 2019, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington after a brief illness. She was attended by family members. 

Formerly of Topsham, Maine, Salem, S.C., Greenwich, Conn., and Rye, N.Y., Marjorie was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 28, 1929, and grew up in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., where the family moved in 1930. 

She was predeceased by her husband, John C. LaMarque; and her daughter, Allison. 

Marjorie is survived by her son, James T. LaMarque of North Yarmouth, Maine; her brother, Ian McCunn of North Canaan; her brother-in-law, Gerry LaMarque and his wife, Judy, of Solomons, Md.; her nephews, Douglas McCunn and his wife, Joan, and David McCunn and his wife, Shirley; and two great-nephews, Stuart and Andrew McCunn. 

Marjorie graduated from Briarcliff Manor High School and Green Mountain Junior College. 

She worked for an extended period as a doctors assistant and traveled extensively with her husband, who was employed by Xerox. 

Marjorie was an avid reader, gardener, sports fan and supporter of the Red Sox. Marjorie was very outgoing, had many friends and will be missed by all.
