FALLS VILLAGE — The Housatonic Valley Regional High School (HVRHS) Mountaineers girls basketball team was defeated, 52-34, by Trinity Catholic in a quarterfinal game at HVRHS on Tuesday, March 5.

The loss ends a deep run into the state tournament (Class S) for the Mountaineers.

The Lady Crusaders led 13-2 at the end of the first quarter. Guards Emma Gardner and Caitlyn Scott played their HVRHS counterparts, Sierra O’Niel and Christina Winburn, very closely and were able to disrupt the Mountaineer offense.
