Janet L. Lovett

SALISBURY — Janet L. (Ostrander) Lovett, 86, a native of Salisbury who retired to Melbourne Fla., died Feb.25, 2019, at Indian River Center Nursing home in Melbourne.

Born Nov. 19, 1932, in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Julia (Surdam) and Brinton Ostrander. 

She was the wife of the late Irving W. Lovett. 

She is survived by a daughter, Faith Lovett of Florida; her sons, Kirk Lovett of Georgia and Wayne Lovett and daughter-in-law Wendy (Mulhern) Lovett of Florida; two grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter;  a sister, Thelma Wellersdick of North Canaan; and several nieces and nephews.

She joins her granddaughter, Ashley Lovett; and her sister and brothers, Leora Webb, Mildred Springer, Isabel Brandt, Evelyn Anson, John Ostrander, Brinton Ostrander, Leatrice Parsons, Harold Ostrander, Natalie Gordon; and other family members and friends. 

She worked at Noble Horizons as the assistant director of housekeeping. She was known as “the mother hen on the west wing of Riga” for 14 years until she retired in 1996.

A celebration of life will be held graveside at the Salisbury Cemetery on Oct. 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Noble Horizons Scholarship Fund.
