Solar farm PILOT law takes flight


NORTH EAST — It’s official. After months of discussion, the Town Board adopted a law allowing Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) to be made for solar farm applications. The public hearing on the issue closed last week, at the Thursday, Jan. 10, board meeting. It was brief.

According to town Supervisor George Kaye, few comments were voiced and some minor corrections were made to the law before the hearing closed.
