While Riley’s Furniture & Flooring closed its doors for business on Dec. 31, lights illuminated the store’s exterior as three firetrucks responded to a call on Monday, Jan. 7. The Millerton Fire Company received a call about smoke in the building at 5 p.m. and responded to the scene along with an ambulance from Northern Dutchess Paramedics. After exploring the building, firefighters found that the smoke was caused from a burned-out light ballast and handled the situation within 15 minutes.
