Marilyn G. (Gleason) Miele

EAST CANAAN — Marilyn G. (Gleason) Miele, 83, died Nov. 21, 2018, at Noble Horizons with her daughter, Jennifer, at her bedside. 

She was the widow of Joseph Miele, who passed on in 2005. 

She was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Danbury, Conn., the daughter of the late Esther Gertrude (Cole) and Earl Gleason.

Marilyn was employed in the Barkhamsted School system as a teacher. She earned her B.S. in 1957 from Western Connecticut State University. 

She enjoyed feeding the wild birds that came to her yard and was an avid reader. However, the love of her life was her great-grandson, Joey, and her granddaughter, Monica.

Marilyn is also survived by her two daughters, Betsy Miele of Hallendale Beach, Fla., and Jennifer Miele of New Marlborough, Mass.; her stepdaughter Lainée Nagy of Highland Park, N.J.; her two sisters, Jane Beers of Brookfield, Conn., and Esther Walters of Torrington; a grandson, Bob Nagy; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Nagy. 

Marilyn was predeceased by her grandson, Richard Nagy.

Arrangements are under the care of the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan.
