Town drafts 2019 fiscal plan, sets public hearing for Nov. 8


NORTH EAST — After assessing the town’s finances, and its need to provide vital services to residents, the Town Board has come up with a preliminary budget for 2019. That budget calls for $1,108,939 to be raised in taxes — slightly more than the $1,053,066 that was raised in taxes this year. It will call for the town to exceed the state-mandated tax cap.

As town Supervisor George Kaye explained, the tax cap this year is 2 percent.
