Pine Plains resident George McGhee, left, was honored by the Town Board on Thursday, Oct. 18, for his volunteerism. McGhee used his own initiative — and his own time, energy and money — to repaint 13 historical markers in town. Town Supervisor Darrah Cloud called it a “huge act of generosity” and presented McGhee with a check for $200 to help cover expenses.
