JoAnn (Luminati) Plante

NORTH CANAAN — JoAnn (Luminati) Plante of Huntington Beach, Calif., formerly of North Canaan, died at home on Aug. 21, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.

JoAnn was born on Aug. 22, 1949, the daughter of the late Rose (Vernali) and Joseph Luminati of North Canaan.

JoAnn  graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School and Eastern Connecticut State University, where she met and married the love of her life, Alan Plante, who survives at home. 

Moving with Alan, she taught school in Gainsville, Ga.,St Louis, Mo., and San Francisco, Modesto and Riverside in California.

JoAnn ended her teaching career at Travis Ranch School in Loma Linda, Calif. 

JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Gabe Mauser; her   grandsons, Joseph and Luke; her brother, Col. Edward Luminati, USAF Ret., and his wife, Betsy, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her aunt, Mary (Vernali) Bradley of Kinderhook, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
