Cupcake contest for a cause on Nov. 3

NORTH CANAAN — There are those of us who celebrate Halloween with cupcakes frosted and decorated like small pumpkins. Of course, fresh-baked goods are verboten as trick-or-treat give-aways because, sadly, only wrapped goods can now be handed out.

But a home for those small cakes can be found and they can even do good work, by supporting the Pilgrim House in North Canaan, which is home to both Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry and Closets, which has clothing and household goods for families in need.
