Landowska Tribute in Lakeville

Coming up on the 140th anniversary of her birth (next July 5), Wanda Landowska still remains unknown to many Americans although the Polish-born harpsichord virtuoso spent many productive years based in Lakeville, Conn., performing and teaching locally as well as in New York City. No one did more to revive interest in the Baroque keyboard instrument, after it had spent a couple hundred years in the shadows of its flashier cousin, the piano.
