Town improvements discussed by North Canaan selectmen

NORTH CANAAN  — Trash receptacles, streetlights, and knotweed were discussed at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting in North Canaan on Monday, Oct. 1. All three topics involved needed improvements for the town’s residents.

Responding to residents’ concerns about the lack of trash receptacles in the commercial district, Selectman Craig Whiting said he has been looking into smaller bins that would collect hand-held pedestrian discards and dog waste in plastic bags, but would not encourage deposits of household trash.
