Concerns about Kent Hollow Mine appeal raised at ZBA public hearing


AMENIA — The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) held a public hearing on the Kent Hollow Mine appeal at Amenia Town Hall on Monday, Sept. 17.

All ZBA members and multiple community members attended. ZBA Acting Chairman Terry Metcalfe introduced the hearing as an appeal from Kent Hollow, explaining that town law allows a property owner to appeal to the ZBA. By that same token, the ZBA’s role is to consider relative zoning regulations and other applicable materials with the board’s consultant when making a decision about the appeal.
