Plans for The Bend approved at town meeting
CORNWALL — After what some estimated as 30 to 40 years of discussion about numerous plans for The Bend in the Housatonic River, 80 voters at a Cornwall town meeting on Friday, Aug. 24, unanimously approved the most recent plan.
That plan includes parking spaces and drainage improvements at The Bend, which is a section of the river near the West Cornwall Covered Bridge.
Although Connecticut Light and Power (also known as Eversource, the region’s electricity provider) will retain ownership, the parcel will be licensed to the town.
