EAST CANAAN — A week of rain finally cleared off on Sunday, July 29, just in time for the annual Jack Brown Fair in East Canaan. Held at the East Canaan Congregational Church, the small fair features a  dog show, a bake sale, a raffle, hamburgers and hot dogs, working steers and the highlight of the afternoon: a dairy show.

The day started with the dairy breed show, where the day’s judge, Rick Allyn of East Canaan, compared the cattle to choose his supreme grand champion of the day.
