MILLBROOK— Never too old to learn, the residents of The Fountains at Millbrook prove that adage often as they make every moment of their retirement count. They attend lectures, do art work, take lessons, belong to musical groups — and they also make it their business to give back to causes close to their hearts. One recent cause was the Harlem Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (HVARS), in the Pleasant Valley/Poughkeepsie area. It is a 501(C)3 charity.

The Fountains’ Quick Fix Group was founded by Jenifer Thuell and Sarah Kohn in June of 2012.
