Greysen Joseph Gregory

NORTH CANAAN — Greysen Joseph Gregory passed away at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, where he was born just 2 and a half years ago.  

On May 26, 2018, Greysen lost his battle with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a very rare kidney disease.

Greysen is survived by his loving mother, Mary AuClaire of North Canaan and his loving father, Joseph Gregory and his girlfriend, Tracie Makula, of Morris, Conn.

Left  to cherish his memory are his grandmother, Sherry “Nana” AuClaire of Sharon;Aunt Dana and her husband, Robert  Davis, of Dover Plains; Uncle  Darren and his wife, Toni Ann  Peterson; his cousins, Jo Marie and Mitchel Peterson of Wassaic; his godmother and cousin, Samantha Davis of Dover Plains; his grandfather, Gary  J. Gregory of Hyde Park, N.Y.; his godfather and Uncle Scott and his wife, Brenda Gregory, and cousins Tyler, Lindsey and Connor Gregory of Fort Myers, Fla.; Aunt Tiki and her husband, Brandt Rodgers, and cousins Zachary and his wife, Elizabeth, and Lauren Rodgers of Hyde Park; and Aunt Lori and her husband, Larry Fischer, and cousins Daniel, Rachel and Adam Fischer of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.  

Greysen was predeceased by his grandfather, Joseph AuClaire; and his grandmother, Mary Ann “Nana” Gregory.  

The family wishes to thank the staff at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for their loving support during his stay; Jo Ann Jaacks and Rose Buckens, who organized Greysen’s benefit at the Morris Community Hall; Michelle and Ella Hewin from North Canaan Elementary School for their outpouring of love and support; and the people of Litchfield. 

Greysen’s time on this earth was short but his smile and struggle touched the hearts of many. His legacy will continue with the donation of his heart valves and corneas to those in need, providing them the gift of life. 

Arrangements are under the care of the Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon.  

A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 31 at St. Bernard’s Church in Sharon, with internment at Hillside Cemetery in Sharon.
