State officials: New budget is fine

The state Legislature passed a $20.86 billion budget bill on Wednesday, May 9, and avoided having to go into a special session.

The budget bill passed the state Senate unanimously, 36-0, and by a 142-8 margin in the House.

State Rep. Brian Ohler (R-64) said Monday, May 14, that while the budget does not include reforms that Republicans have been pushing for, he is satisfied with the result.
