Public budget hearing May 4

KENT — Taxpayers in the town of Kent are encouraged to attend the budget public hearing at Town Hall on Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m.

Questions about the proposed municipal and education spending plans can be asked at the hearing and changes can be made to the proposals. Once the budgets go to town meeting, they can only be turned down and reduced. 

The proposed combined education and municipal spending total for the coming fiscal year (which begins July 1) is $12,869,312, a .49 percent increase over the current budget (which is $12,806,467).
