Pressured Esty won’t seek another term in D.C.

U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-5) announced Monday afternoon, April 2, that she will not seek re-election.

Esty’s future was the subject of considerable criticism and speculation over the Easter weekend after a story broke about her treatment of her former chief of staff, Tony Baker, who was accused of harassment, physical violence and intimidation.

The story was reported first in the Connecticut Post on Thursday, March 29, and in The Washington Post, also on March 29.
