Board of Assessment Appeals

All owners of real property in the Town of Canaan are hereby warned that the Board of Assessment Appeals for the Town of Canaan will meet, by appointment, for the purpose of hearing appeals related to the assessment of real property. All persons claiming to be aggrieved by the doings of the Assessor of the Town of Canaan with regard to real property assessment on the Grand List of October 1, 2017 are hereby warned to file their appeal application to the Board of Assessment Appeals on or before March 6, 2018. Any applications received after that date will be rejected. For applications please contact the Assessor’s office or Town Clerk’s office at (860)824-0707.
