Elinor M. Harrison

 PINE PLAINS — Elinor M. Harrison, 84, died Nov. 28, 2010, at Sharon Hospital.

She was born in Sharon on Sept. 22, 1926, the daughter of the late Myrtle (Funk) and William Cahill.

On June 27, 1948, she married Raymond C. Harrison in Millbrook. He predeceased her in 1979.

Mrs. Harrison was a custodian for 12 years for the Pine Plains Central School District.

Survivors include her son, Raymond M. Harrison of Pine Plains; a brother, Harry Cahill of Endicott, N.Y.; a sister, Ruth Ann Pulver of Pine Plains; and five grandchildren, Cassandra M. Harrison, R.J. Harrison, Corey Harrison, Chad Harrison and Jason Harrison.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Richard W. Harrison; a grandson, Richard Harrison; a brother, Matthew Cahill; and a sister, Mildred Montemorra.

Graveside services were held Dec. 3 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains, the Rev. Carol Miller officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Dutchess County SPCA, 796 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.

Arrangements are under the care of the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, Pine Plains.

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
