Donald L. Farwell

LAKEVILLE — Donald L. Farwell, 62, died Jan. 1, 2018, at his home in Las Vegas, Nev., after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 8, 1955, in Sharon, the son of the late Lucy (Lovett) Farwell and Ken Farwell Sr. of Las Vegas.

Don was a graduate of MCRD Parris Island, after which he spent some time serving as a Marine Corps Reservist. He was also a member of Lakeville Hose Co #1 for a brief period where he became a state-certified firefighter. 

Anyone that knew him  knew how much he loved the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants.

Don worked at Community Lumber and Hardware in Lake-ville and played on their softball team. 

He moved to Las Vegas in 1990; he worked there for many years, quickly moving up the ranks to corporal of security at one of the casinos. 

Don is survived by his wife, Joann Farwell; his father, Ken Farwell Sr.; his daughter, Jenn Farwell of Salisbury; his son, Jason Farwell and his wife, Summer, of East Windsor Conn.; his stepson, Bobby; three stepdaughters, Trudy, Tricia and Traci, all of Las Vegas; and his siblings, Kathy DeVries, Karen Hansen, Wendy Currier, Nancy Shapcott and Ken Farwell Jr.; his grandchildren, Nathan, Kaleb, Austin, Kylee, Isabelle and Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Don was predeceased by his mother, Lucy, in 2007; and his brother, Michael, in 2014.

Services will be held in September 2018 and will be announced once plans are finalized.
