Helen Elizabeth (Brundage) Coutermash Morck

WALLINGFORD — Helen Elizabeth (Brundage) Coutermash Morck, 93, died peacefully the morning of Dec. 25, 2017, at Masonicare Health Center.  

Helen was born April 4, 1924, in White Plains, N.Y., daughter of the late Marie (Fischer) and Gilbert Louis Brundage.

On May 1, 1943, Helen married Wallis Edward Coutermash.  Wallis died March 24, 1956.  

They had one child, Wallis Edward Coutermash, who was born Aug. 7, 1945, and predeceased his mother on Feb. 25, 1998.

Helen was remarried on May 4, 1959, to Elmer Augustave Morck. The couple purchased their home in Falls Village on July 20, 1963. Elmer died Nov. 18, 2006, and Helen continued to live in the family home until she moved to Geer Village in July  2015.  

She made one more move to Masonicare, in May 2017.  

Helen attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Cornwall  for many years.  From February 1963 until September 1984, Helen worked at Leaders in North Canaan.

Helen is survived by her four grandchildren, Kimberly Anne Cammer of Kinderhook. N.Y., Stacey Ann Abely and her husband, James, of Durham., Conn., Brad Truman Coutermash of Hamden, Conn., and Melanie Irene Coutermash of Middletown, Conn.;  four great-grandchildren, Reese Wallis Cammer and Keri Lynn Cammer, both of Kinderhook, and Andrew Wallis Coutermash-Abely and Dylan Richard Coutermash-Abely, both of Durham; and her nephew, Tom Morck of North Canaan.

Arrangements are under the care of the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home in North Canaan.
