Historic marker unveiled at original site of one-room Irondale Schoolhouse

MILLERTON — Traveling up Route 22 in the Irondale section of Millerton, visitors will now find a roadside marker set in the exact location where the Irondale Schoolhouse stood for over 75 years. Along with marking the fourth anniversary of the schoolhouse’s move to the village of Millerton, its placement also represents the finishing touches on a nine-year restoration project.

Ralph Fedele, president of the Friends of the Irondale Schoolhouse Association (FISA), remembered the time and toil that went into the schoolhouse’s restoration.
