Washington’s Gary Ciferri seeks supervisor post

WASHINGTON — The town of Washington supervisor seat is up for election this year. The term is for four years. Incumbent Gary Ciferri, a Republican, is the only candidate running.

Ciferri is currently finishing a six-year stint as supervisor. His first term was for two years, before a board vote lengthened the supervisor’s term and the councilmen’s terms to four years each.

Ciferri is a native of the town, went through Millbrook schools and attended Dutchess Community College. He is a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, having served in Vietnam.
