SHARON — The town of Sharon has refused to let go of summer and was awarded a gold medal Saturday, Sept. 23, for the ever-more-popular car show at Christ Church Episcopal.

Twenty cars assembled on the grassy roadside across from the church. They ranged in age from a 1912 Stanley Steamer to a 1969 Porsche.

Every entry was a significant and interesting part of automotive history.

A standout was Sam Posey’s 1955 Mercedes Benz 300sl Gullwing brought by his son, John.
