Margaret C. 'Maggie' Wheeler

PINE PLAINS — Margaret C. “Maggie†Wheeler, 72, died June 10, 2010, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

She was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Amenia, the daughter of the late Dorothy (Way) and Lester Chapman.

Mrs. Wheeler was an inspector for Lakeville Precision Molding Company.

She is survived by two sons, David H. Wheeler of Pine Plains and Daniel Wheeler of Rhinebeck; a daughter, Dori Wheeler of Red Hook, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Chapman of Pine Plains, and Ralph Chapman of Cherry Valley, N.Y.; two sisters, Kate Millius and Marjorie Bowen, both of Millerton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home in  Pine Plains, the Rev. Carol Miller officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.

Tuning up two passions under one roof

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
