Cleanups, dinner and lecture among Earth Day celebrations


HARLEM VALLEY — With the last of the Easter eggs packed away for next year, Dutchess County has already begun planning events to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22.

Founded by former U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, the forerunner of the modern environmental movement made its official arrival on April 22, 1970. Earth Day is now the largest secular holiday in the world.
