Winsted P&Z rejects health center application

WINSTED — Toward the end of a three-hour meeting on Monday, April 10, at Pearson Middle School, the Planning and Zoning Commission rejected a special permit application to convert the Winsted Super Saver IGA, located at 372 Main St., into a medical clinic for Community Health and Wellness of Greater Torrington.

The vote to reject the application was 3-2.

Commission members Barbara Wilkes, George Closson and Art Melycher all voted against the application, while Chairman Craig Sanden and member Jerry Martinez both voted for the application.
