Burr proposes $1.1M increase for school budget: Central office, teachers, pupil services among increases
WINSTED — The Board of Education held a budget workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Town Hall led by Winchester School District Receiver Freeman Burr.
As per the state’s receivership of the Winchester School District, the board has no official legislative powers.
The legislative powers of the Board of Education, including determining a proposed budget to be submitted to the town, rest with Receiver Burr.
Despite this, Burr discussed and consulted with board members during the workshop meeting.
