Fraud investigation at recovery center

NORTH CANAAN — The state police are investigating the possible theft of  funds from the Eden Hill Recovery Retreat in North Canaan.

The center’s owner, Dorothy Gay, contacted the police last February and showed them detailed financial records that indicated the center’s director had improperly written checks and taken cash from the company’s bank account.

The director’s name is redacted in the police warrant; the investigation into her activities is ongoing, according to a police source.
