The Lakeville Journal congratulates the honorees of the student of the week program at Housatonic Valley Regional High School.

Our student of the week is Leo Gustafson, the son of Richard and Barbara Gustafson of North Canaan.

Representing the class of 2010, Leo is an outstanding, service-oriented and helpful young man. He is an active member of the FFA program here. He enjoyed planting “a bunch ofâ€ chestnut trees with his class.

Leo is often seen with the groundskeeping and maintenance staff, helping keep our school green and clean. He takes great pride in his work. Leo is the junior chief in the North Canaan Fire Company and a member of our student fire safety group.

Even with his many community activities, Leo maintains an overall B average.

He is a thoughtful and respectful student who truly enjoys conversation. We are pleased to name him as our student of the week. Congratulations!

After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
