NOTIFICATION OF AQUATIC TREATMENT

TWIN LAKES, SALISBURY

In accordance with CT DEEP, Pesticide Division notification requirements, selected areas of East Twin Lake and West Twin Lake (Second & Third Basin) will be chemically treated with Reward (Diquat) herbicide for control of non-native Eurasian watermilfoil.  The lakes will be closed to all water uses (including swimming, boating and fishing) on the day of treatment only. The treatment is tentatively scheduled for Monday August 22nd, 2016.  Prior to treatment, the lake shoreline will be posted with signs in accordance with DEEP requirements.  The temporary water-use restrictions associated with this product to be applied (in treatment areas only), are as follows: no swimming, boating and fishing on the day of treatment only; no use of lake water for irrigation, watering livestock (i.e., cattle, horses, etc) and drinking for 5 days, commencing on the day or treatment.  Information on the specific date of application may be obtained from the person(s) named below.  The chemical application is being conducted by the State licensed firm, Solitude Lake Management 590 Lake Street Shrewsbury, MA 01545 Tel (508)865-1000

LEGAL NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that on August 11, 2016, at a special town meeting duly warned, the legal voters of the Town of Salisbury voted to enact the following ordinance:

Be it ordained- that pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 9-189a, the term of office for each of the Registrars of Voters for the Town of Salisbury shall be four years and until his or her successor has been elected and is qualified, said term to begin on the first Monday of January succeeding his or her election. 

The ordinance will become effective thirty (30) days after publication of this notice. It is available at the Town Clerk’s office for inspection and copying at no charge to anyone requesting it.
