A sweet remedy

DEAR DR. GOTT: I have found the simplest, cheapest and tastiest cure for aging and symptoms of growing older.

Simply separate two Oreo cookies so that all the cream ends up on one half of the cookie. Then take the two cream halves and place one blue M&M on one and a green on the other. Eat the blue M&M cookie before dinner and the green one after.

After a dozen years of this regimen, I feel younger, happier and more satisfied in life. Could this be the fountain of youth?

DEAR READER: I certainly hope so! My only question to you is, what do you do with the two non-cream-covered halves? If I ate those pieces, would the effects be reversed or voided out?

Readers, please let me know what you think of this possible “fountain of youth. Give it a try and tell me if you feel happier and younger. If it works, we may have found something worthy of scientific study!

DEAR DR. GOTT: One of your readers wrote regarding pure oil of oregano for rosacea. I tried three to four drops on my nose and cheeks twice. Well, it felt as if someone lit a torch on my face both times. The feeling was far beyond the little stings as stated by your reader.

DEAR READER: I’m sorry your experience was not successful. As I have indicated before, if a reader passes on a tip that might help others and appears harmless, I will mention it in my column. Obviously, this one did not work for you.

Should other readers find the product too strong, as well, I recommend blending it in equal parts with a carrier oil, such as castor or olive oil, before applying.

I value readers’ opinions, both negative and positive, and am grateful you took the time to write.

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
