 THE SALISBURY HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION 

The Salisbury Historic Districts Commission will hold a public hearing on June 9, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at Salisbury Town Hall, 27 Main Street, Salisbury Ct. to act on a request from the owners of 9 Sharon Rd. Lakeville, Ct. to upgrade and expand the current parking lot in front of the Firehouse and add additional parking along Pocket Knife Street. Plans are available to review at the Salisbury town clerk’s office.

A referendum vote of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Canaan, Connecticut will be held in the Town of Canaan at the following polling places:Town of Canaan Town Hall, 108 Main Street, Falls Village, CT 06031and simultaneously in the other Member Towns of the District on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. pursuant to Section 10-56 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, Revision of 1958, as amended, upon a resolution adopted by the Regional Board of Education at meeting held May 2, 2016, which will be placed on the ballot labels as the following questions:“SHALL REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER 1 APPROPRIATE $5,760,000 FOR THE 2016 HOUSATONIC VALLEY REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL RENOVATION PROJECTS, AND AUTHORIZE THE ISSUE OF BONDS AND NOTES TO FINANCE THE PORTION OF THE APPROPRIATION NOT DEFRAYED BY GRANTS (ESTIMATED GRANTS OF APPROXIMATELY $1,456,000)?”

Voters approving a resolution shall vote “Yes” and those opposing said resolution shall vote “No”.  Absentee ballots will be available from the Town Clerk’s office.  The full text of the resolution adopted by the Regional Board of Education is on file and available for public inspection in the Town Clerk’s office.
