Celebrating National FFA Week, Feb. 20-27

Each year the Pine Plains FFA Chapter holds its FFA Fall Agricultural Festival in October. Last year’s event included a vintage car show, horse show, horse pull, tractor pull, flower show, dairy show, pet show, chicken barbecue, parade and more. FFA students showed animals from local farms in school barns. Above, fourth-grader Rhylee Shaffer, 8, showed Meadow, a cow from Lo-Nan Farms. Photo by Gabriel Napoleon

This year’s theme is Amplify! and it embraces more than 85 years of FFA traditions while looking forward to the organization’s future. More than half a million members will participate in National FFA Week activities at local, state and national levels. These members have a passion for agriculture.
